The abstract review process plays a crucial role in academic and research conferences, journals, and other scholarly events. Its primary purpose is to assess the suitability and quality of submitted abstracts before they are accepted for presentation or publication. By evaluating concise summaries that provide a snapshot of the research, including its objectives, methods, results, and conclusions, this process helps determine the value of the papers. Here is a step-by-step guide to analyzing and scoring abstracts effectively.
To access the reviewer portal, follow these steps: Firstly, from the login page, enter the email address you have received the invitation from. If you already have a login created earlier during submissions, you can use the same for viewing the review as well.
If you are visiting the portal for the first time, click forgot password and reset the account. If you are still unable to login, connect us by “Open a Case” and letting us know the clarification we shall reset the account for you.
Creating a new account requires filling in all mandatory fields. This ensures that the committee can recognize and reach you if required. While this process may seem tedious, it is necessary for effective communication.
To access the reviewer tab, please make sure you have logged in using the same email address that you received the invitation on. Once logged in to the reviewer dashboard, you will find a list of papers assigned to you. This list will include both abstracts and case reports.
To begin scoring, simply click on the title of any paper from the list.
When you click on the title of the paper from the dashboard, you will be directed to a view where you can see the full details of the paper.
If it is an abstract you are viewing, you will be able to see the background, objectives, methods, result images, and more.
Alternatively, if you have chosen to score a case report, you can view the case details, images, and more.
Below this, you will find the score card, where you can assign a score of 1-5 for each given criteria.
The side panel enables seamless navigation between the current scored paper and other sections, including the table of score cards, instructions, and returning to the dashboard.
Enhance your experience with our advanced edit and view score functionality. To do so you can click on edit. You can view the papers assigned to you, topic wise and also get the ability to recheck the scores already assigned.
We understand the importance of confidentiality in the peer review process, and we trust that you will treat the abstract and any related information with the utmost confidentiality. Thank you for considering this invitation, and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or need further information.
Authors can monitor their work progress at this step. Additionally, they can obtain a print file of their submission to confirm that all details are correctly updated. While it is possible to revise the content during the submission step, once the content is finalized, it cannot be edited anymore.
This is the most important step for ensuring your paper or case study is submitted for review or selection; therefore, finalizing is the final acknowledgement given by the author that all information updated is correct and there are no more modifications required.
